What started as a case of mistaken identity turned into a really fun hour of chatting with Dr. Joan Sung! Joan is an educator, author, and more recently a #baddaugther! The timing worked out where Joan was going to be in town, so we packed up the mobile studio and met up in SF, where we were able to talk about her book Kinda Korean, her movement called Bad Daughter Confessions, and lots more.
To learn more about Joan, you can go to https://drjoansung.com/, or her Instagram @alittlebitjoan or @baddaughterconfessions. Get her book Kinda Korean, wherever you get books!

Another dream-come-true interview for me here at the InfatuAsian Podcast! Michelle Krusiec has been acting since the 2000's. You've no doubt seen her in something: Star Trek DSN, Sweet Home Alabama, Monk, Cold Case, Grey's Anatomy, NCIS, Weeds, Dirty Sexy Money, Far North, Fringe, CSI, Hawaii 5-0, and dozens more. She was Wil Pang in Alice Wu's Saving Face, and Anna May Wong in Netflix's Hollywood. She has directed and written her own shorts as well. She's done and seen a lot in Hollywood over her prolific career, so she has lots of insight into the inner workings.
It was a real joy to speak with her for an hour. Follow Michelle @michellekrusiec on social media. And keep your eyes out for her next projects.

Ep 211 Asian Movie Exchange with the Drama Trio (Plus One)!
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
Tuesday Mar 03, 2026
This was originally going to be our Valentine's episode, where we watched Asian movies with a love story in them. Well, as things go, I kept having to push this episode back, but here it is in March, a few weeks late!
I was so happy to bejoined by Jess, Caitlin, and Liliana, who are collectively known as the Drama Trio! We each recommended a movie to watch, and came back to discuss on the air. We have a great variety of films to watch, and we're happy to share our thoughts on them with you. The four films are: Adorning (China, 2019), Lost in Starlight (Korea, 2025), Tune In For Love (Korea, 2019), and Better Days (China, 2019).
Special thanks to my 3 wonderful cohosts, Liliana @teaandsojupod, Caitlin @nosleep4dramas, and our pal Jessica @daebakpod. Go give them a listen wherever you get your podcasts!

Ep 210 ARKAI An Interview with the Grammy Winning Contemporary Instrumental Duo!
Tuesday Feb 24, 2026
Tuesday Feb 24, 2026
I am so happy I said yes to interviewing the instrumental duo ARKAI, made up of Jonathan Miron and Philip Sheegog! We booked this interview back in January, when they were Grammy-nominated, but come February, they became Grammy-winning! Taking home the trophy for Best Contemporary Instrumental Album! What a wild ride, considering this is only their 2nd album.
I hope you have fun hearing about their story from randomly meeting to winning a Grammy together! You can hear their music online, but the best way to support them is to get a physical CD or vinyl record on Bandcamp.com! Follow them on line @arkaimusic on social media or https://www.arkaimusic.com
Save the date! Our March Madness of Asian Dishes is taking place at On Waverly in SF Chinatown on March 21st, @5:30 PM. (also on Zoom)

Fun episode for you today! We're talking with Hannah Chea, Miss SF Chinatown 2025! She is a woman of many interests and talents. She marched with the Cal Marching Band during her time at UC Berkeley. She worked in tech, but after getting laid off, she pivoted to oyster shucking at parties and touring with a Cambodian dance company! And, she lives near Galileo High, so we had her "in studio" for a face-to-face chat!
Listen to our episode on Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you find podcasts. Follow Hannah @xirimpi on social media, and look for her in Chinatown during these 2 weeks of festivities!

Ep 208 Up with Choligarchy! A Chat with The One and Only Margaret Cho
Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
Tuesday Feb 10, 2026
I need to start a series called: Legends. Margaret Cho is someone who was literally one of "us" growing up in San Francisco. She went on to be one of the most recognizable and iconic Asian American celebrities. Besides hundreds of stand-up comedy shows, Margaret starred in her own sitcom, been in dozens of movies and TV shows, has been nominated for 5 Grammys, has written 2 books, and has recorded her own podcast. She was named funniest female comedian in 1994, won the ACLU's 1st Ammedment Award, won GLAAD's Golden Gate Award, LA Pride's Lifetime Achievement Award, and many, many more awards and accolades. She's truly a 1 of 1, and a true living legend!
Margaret is on tour with her show Choligarchy, and will be in San Francisco for a May 29th date. Let's go together! Find out more at Margaretcho.com, or her Instagram @margaret_cho or TikTok @themargaretcho

Helen Goh is a licensed psychologist and a baker at London's famed Ottolenghi delis and restaurants. She combined her two passions into her first solo cookbook, Baking and the Meaning of Life. It has over 100 recipes and photographs grouped into different aspects of our lives. It is gorgeous and delicious. I really enjoyed my chat with Helen as we talked about life and baking!
